Details:
The Bronze Medallion course is the foundation of the Lifesaving Society leadership pathway. Students learn lifesaving principles, including judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness, as well as self-rescue, tows, carries, and basic first aid.
Prerequisite: Age 13+ or Bronze Star.
Bronze Cross
Advanced lifesaving training that builds strength, skill, and leadership—your next step after Bronze Medallion.
Details:
Bronze Cross builds on Bronze Medallion skills with more complex rescue techniques and endurance challenges. It’s a required course for future lifeguards and instructors.
Prerequisite: Bronze Medallion (current)
Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Course
Turn your passion for swimming into a career! Learn to teach all ages in the Swim for Life® program.
Details:
This course trains candidates to plan, deliver, and evaluate Lifesaving Society Swim for Life® lessons. Includes in-water practice, lesson planning, and supervised teaching experience.
Prerequisite: Age 15+, Bronze Cross (current)
